Marvin H. Olive

Marvin H. Olive, 84, of Dodge Center, died Friday, February 26, 2010 at St. Mary’s Hospital in Rochester.
Marvin Olive was born August 11, 1925 in rural Dodge County. He was raised on the family farm and graduated from Mantorville High School in 1943. He married Florence D. Baker on December 2, 1950. They farmed in rural Mantorville, retiring in 1984 but continuing to live in rural Mantorville. His wife died in 1993 and he continued to live in rural Mantorville until entering Fairview Care Center in Dodge Center in 1996.
Marvin was a member of First Congregational Church in Mantorville. He had a love for farming, International tractors and tinkering on machinery.
He is survived by one daughter Jeanne (Mick) Fritz of rural Mantorville, one grandson Ryan Thoe of Dodge Center, one step-grandson, Jason Fritz of Mantorville, one great-grandchild, Jada Thoe, two step-grandchildren, Maddox Fritz and Mayes Fritz and one sister, Eleanor (Stanley) Zelinske of rural West Concord. He was preceded in death by his wife, Florence and one brother Howard Olive.
Visitation was held Tuesday evening at Dibble Funeral Home and will be held one hour before the 2:00 p.m. service on Wednesday (today). The funeral service will be held at First Congregational Church, 515 Walnut St., Mantorville, with Pastor Clifford Christensen officiating. Burial will be in Evergreen Cemetery in Mantorville.
